All roads lead to the ferry
landing -- or so it seems. The following map shows the highways
in the upper Midwest which you can take to get to Ashland where,
just to the west, is the turn north for Bayfield on Highway
13.
Once you get to Bayfield, just
a block off the highway at the north edge of town is the ferry
landing.

The 15-minute ferry ride is
perfect for unwinding and setting the stage for a grand visit
to Madeline Island. Please take advantage of the time to enjoy
the great blessings of beauty God has bestowed on the Apostle
Islands region.
When you arrive on the island,
St. John's Church and Wood's Hall Shop are just about a three-block
drive, bike ride, or pleasant walk for those so inclined. Just
turn right at the gazebo marking the ferry landing entrance
and follow the main road along the lake shore. You'l pass many
of the shops, restaurants, and other intriguing establishments
which the island has to offer.
When you reach the church complex
you'll find parking on the beach side -- adjacent to a park
perfect for picnicing and appreciating the lake. Across the
street is the church and Woods Hall craft shop.
We look forward to your visit.
Please stop in and be welcomed as part of the family, for that
is exactly what you are!
